Spiral Of Silence
Spiral of Silence are a Belgian cold wave & post-punk band with deep Madchester roots and a sound that’s dark, raw, and hypnotic.
Formed in 1991, the band quickly made a name for themselves across Europe’s underground scene, playing major alternative festivals and venues ever since.
Their distinct sound — and especially the haunting vocals of frontman Tom Van Troyen — earned them the nickname ‘the Belgian Joy Division’, a title embraced by fans and press alike.
Their cult-classic albums Leap (1998) and dEcAdEnT (2002) earned critical acclaim and saw them share the stage with icons like Gary Numan, Front 242, DAF and Chameleons.
After a long hiatus, they returned with the haunting singles Toll, Wish, and Get In The Car — all featured on their long-awaited Landmark EP (Jezus Factory, UK).
Founding members Tom Van Troyen (vocals, bass) and Achiel Keppens (drums) are joined by guitarist Pol Wuyts, completing the new lineup since 2023.
In fall 2025, Spiral of Silence will return to the stage — performing Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures live in full.
