Transcending
Transcending is the production alias of James Brennan, a Northern England artist whose relationship with electronic music stretches back over three decades. As a teenager he was deep in the UK rave and jungle/hardcore scene, eventually taking to the decks as Decibel — warming up for legends like DJ Brisk and Slipmatt at events across the country.
Life intervened, as it does. But music never really left.
After nearly thirty years away from the booth and the DAW, Transcending returned with something rare: the technical perspective of a producer who has studied the craft, fused with the instincts of someone who was there at the very beginning. The result is uplifting trance shaped by techno grit and rave energy — tracks that carry the euphoria of the 90s in their DNA while pushing forward into something entirely their own.
