Meshkat Mosavat, AKA Meshcut (born July 22, 1992), is an Iranian singer,
songwriter, and music producer.
Meshcut’s musical journey began in the underground, banned music scene of
Tehran, Iran, where artistic expression is heavily restricted. As a nonbinary artist,
their work embodies the spirit of resistance and self-liberation, amplifying
forbidden voices that challenge societal norms.
Now based in Paris, Meshcut continues to push creative boundaries, collaborating
with international musicians and producers. A defining moment in their career
was meeting producer Christine Guin in Paris, leading to the production of their
highly anticipated debut solo album, Rebirth, released and available in all
platforms.
With Rebirth, Meshcut delves into themes of transformation, resilience, and selfredefinition,
blending brooding synth textures with raw, emotional storytelling.
The album is expected to establish them as a distinctive voice in the alternative
electronic scene, bridging influences from darkwave, post-punk, and avant-garde
electronica.
Meshcut remains devoted to breaking boundaries in music and identity. Their
artistry stands as a powerful testament to the defiant spirit of exiled voices,
shaping a new era of bold, unapologetic sound.
