Andrea Plamondon
Andrea Plamondon's work has been described as "Diverse, atmospheric and compelling". An innovative artist, song writer, and operatically trained vocalist, Plamondon was told early in her career that her voice would land leading roles in the Metropolitan Opera; she received a full scholarship to Mass College of Art and holds a BA in Poetics from New College of Ca. Plamondon has fronted bands in various genres, including Middle Eastern, Ladino, Progressive rock, Celtic rock, pop rock, and improvisational opera. She has also played the lead in several theatrical productions, and has been compared to singers as diverse as, Siouxsie Sioux, Kate Bush, Ofra Haza, Enya and others. Her 2008 anthology release "I Still Remember" (A Collection Of Songs From San Franciscos' Underground) garnered praise for its originality and diversity. The album combines her artistry with some of the most unusual alternative rock bands ever to grace the Bay Area. In 2020, the singer was selected for BWH Music Groups' "2020 Women to Watch", and since its release in 2021, her Music video "Only Eden" has screened at film festivals worldwide, winning various awards.
