Ser o Dúo start their work in 2017 in Valparaíso, Chile. With Tomás Carrasco on wind instruments and Moa Edmunds on acoustic guitar, the duo seeks to use the possibilities given by a wide range of world flutes (silver flute, quenas, Bulgarian kaval, bansuri from India, turkish ney, ocarina, among others) and a hybrid approach to the acoustic guitar (classical and south-american techniques) for creating music openly and inclusively, weakening stylistic and cultural borders, where the strict structure of western classical music live together with improvisation, modern approaches and sounds taken from a wide range of musical traditions.
In 2019 take publish a sheet music book with 8 of their own compositions called “Punto medio” along with “Cadenza” publishing house. That same year they record and publish their first album “Testimonio”, which is available in all digital platforms, as well as their second album "Baithak" (2022).
Since 2019 they have been filming their documentary called “Nomadic sounds”, record of human and musical encounters that reflect the power of music to connect people, beyond cultural and geographical differences. They have been in India and Nepal where they have performed concerts, workshops and musical collaborations in a wide variety of cities and contexts. Based in Kathmandu, they are teaching at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, as well as continuing to create and collaborate with several local and international musicians.
