Krantz is now set to release his fifth album, Consperia.
- During the pandemic, I read a lot and listened more and more to audiobooks. I got caught up in True Crime podcasts with conspiracy themes.
- The result is a historical time travel, a social commentary, but in notes. Music in dark tones with barytone guitar, pedal steel and lap steel. Drums and bass provide the foundation, and then the music is seasoned with clarinets, flutes, saxophones, strings etc.
- Samplings of authentic sounds feature, for instance, on Järnvägsspåret, where I’d recorded an impact drill from the workplace outside my home. A few voices and sounds are from the house, the Internet etc. In the monologue on Walkie Talkie I’d recorded my neighbour and my ex-wife’s father, says Krantz.
The first sample off Consperia is" Try to Catch Me, which is about a person who keeps eluding the police. They send a letter to the police with a confession, and finishes the letter with “Try to catch me if you can!”. Scotland Yard received quite a few letters from Jack the Ripper with that exact phrase. Accompanying the song is a video where the pilot Eva Lotta Wahlström flies Krantz in a Cesna plane over Ekerö. Here, Krantz is the man on the run, leaving everything behind. Yatzy the dog followed to the airfield and was left behind.
