Valentina Black makes pop that moves: sultry vocals, funk-soaked grooves and big, cinematic hooks.
Born in Verona, Italy, she grew up on her musician mother's Ella Fitzgerald and disco records, then fell for James Brown, Michael Jackson and Rihanna. Her first break came from a legend: Jimmy Carl Black, drummer of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, called her "a beautiful angel with a golden voice" and made her the voice of his last project in 2008.
Before music took over, Valentina danced on Italian national TV in RAI's "Quelli che il calcio" and represented Veneto at Miss Italia 2000. She then took over the club circuit as a DJ-producer, from Berlin and Frankfurt to the Geneva Motor Show, and her single "Everywhere You Go" hit the Beatport and Traxsource charts with airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Today Valentina Black is all-in on pop. "Say You Love The World" was made in Austin, Texas with producer Rob Murray. "Do It Right" and "Angel" were written and produced with two-time Grammy-winning producer Jon-John Robinson. "Is It Love" brought sunshine pop-reggae vibes.
Now comes "Feel It", a space-pop anthem with an animated video that takes her from Manhattan to the Moon. Alpha woman, made of galaxies and stars.
Can you feel it?
