Frank Cebreros
Frank Cebreros
For Frank Cebreros (Lima, 1978), music is a journey through space and time. His intimate relationship with sound can be felt in his record Estrellas Normales, an exploration of sonic textures and sensations in which he treats the computer as a musical instrument. A producer and sound engineer, Frank designs and builds recording studios, acoustic instruments and synthesizers from the same standpoint; regardless of scale, these are all constructions inhabited by sound. Frank has worked in projects that have been relevant to the Peruvian musical scene in different ways; he has collaborated with Manongo Mujica, Perujazz, Cinco Esquinas, Sonoradio, Fil Uno, Pepita García-Miró, Leslie Patten, Reset, Muma, Herrmann Hamann, Flor Canelo, Homenaje a la Pachamama, La Gran Reunión, Encantos Andinos and Daniel F., among others. In 2019 he recorded and mixed Fil Uno’s “Indios Antropófagos” Suite, which accompanied artist Christian Bendayán’s exhibition at the Venice Art Biennale. He also recorded and mixed HEDDA, an EP by Fil Uno released in 2020. He produced Estrellas Normales from 1999 to 2004. Released in 2020, it has been recently mastered by iconic Argentinian producer Mario Breuer. La FF, his irreverent duo with cellist Fil Uno, has performed in Cusco and Lima. He is also part of electro-pop band Hertz, for which he builds synthesizers and sequencers. More Info
