DHANYA
DHANYA is a German producer and multi-instrumentalist who weaves jazz, hip-hop, neo- soul, and psychedelic rock into eclectic soundscapes. Born with an innate musical curiosity, he began drumming at age six, often jamming with his father, a professional guitarist. While honing his craft, DHANYA immersed himself in jazz studies at university, a foundation that deepened his versatility. He later collaborated closely with rapper JuJu Rogers, contributing to an album and EP while working alongside Grammy-nominated producers such as “Like” of PacDiv (Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak) and Crada (Kid Cudi, Drake). His growing repertoire includes work with artists such as Mick Jenkins, Rexx Life Raj, Kiefer, Phabo, and Sampa The Great, among others. Beyond production, DHANYA co-leads the hip- hop/jazz duo Modha, whose acclaimed 2023 debut album Through The Cycle sparked a European tour and solidified his reputation as a boundary-pushing artist. Recently, DHANYA presented himself to the world with his debut solo EP, Afraid of Winter in Summer—his first release under his birth name and the culmination of a two-year creative journey. Drawing parallels to Berlin’s stark seasonal contrasts, the EP grapples with the weight of anticipation—how summer’s warmth feels shadowed by winter’s inevitability, or how longing for light can eclipse its fleeting presence.
