Yolanda Be Cool
Yolanda Be Cool is a household name with a record digger's instinct.
Their brand of fun, forward thinking, sample based house music is designed for the dancefloors but with a reach that extends far beyond them.
Their global number one with DCUP, “We No Speak Americano,” brought that sound to the world. Intended as a party record for fellow DJs, it became one of dance music’s most recognisable anthems. The formula still holds: dig deep, trust your taste and make something people can’t leave alone.
Since then, their records have landed on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax and Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars, alongside many others as well as their longstanding home at Sweat It Out.
An ARIA award, Beatport number ones, a debut album and years of worldwide touring have followed. Through it all, they’ve kept their egos in check and their ears open.
Speaking of ears, their influence extends beyond their own releases. Through their A&R work at Sweat It Out, they’ve helped champion Dom Dolla, RÜFÜS DÜ SOL and Purple Disco Machine, alongside countless others, bringing the same sharp instincts to discovering talent as they do to making records.
Big stages. Small basements. Yolanda Be Cool know how to move both. And they love to do it.
Their sets connect deep cuts with unreleased heat, taking unexpected turns with the confidence of DJs who know their music and their room. They call it “fun with thought.” You’ll hear what they mean.
