Not many can encapsulate such an ethereal dynamic sound like Binta can. The 26 year old Gambian artist from London, is looking to blend music from her childhood with modern music soundscapes to create something nostalgic yet entirely new with inspirations ranging from Erykah Badu, Usher, SZA ,Lauryn Hill and Jhene Aiko. Her international upbringing allowed for a diversity of sound and style.
In Her first EP “Limbo” , Binta wears her influences on her sleeve, creating a neo-soul atmosphere reminiscent of the legendary early 2000s collective Soulquarians. Binta expresses love and loss in a form way ahead of her age at the time.A beautiful introspective moment that gives the EP a tonal shifts.
