Tesla Cøils
Tesla Cøils is a music project from Gold Coast, Australia, helmed by multi-instrumentalist Jed A. Walters and hard-hitting drumsmith Chris Dennis. Influenced by the coldwave, industrial and post-punk movements of early-80’s dystopian Europe, Walters appears as a true alienated synthesist, combining synthesiser, ethereal guitars, tape loops and noise textures with Dennis’ pummelling post-punk rhythms. Forming a cold and gritty backdrop for Walters’ introspective lyricism – delivered with a haunting baritone - Tesla Cøils breaks the tan-clad stereotype of Australia and transcends to a faraway realm of melancholia and machinery.
