louder
Louder is a remote sonic experiment featuring Davide, Massimo and Claudio, three post-punk devotees from Catania (Sicily).
Our journey started in the early 1990s, during that last glimpse of what soon would be known as the pre-digital era. The three of us met in college and were brought together by a shared passion for The Cure, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Sonic Youth and Placebo, among others. We formed a band, wrote songs, played live gigs, did interviews for local radio. Then ... life happened and we disbanded in search of our own paths, be it in career, family and the world at large.
Fast forward 20 years ... Louder debuted officially as a solo project by Davide with the publication of the EP "first recordings" in May 2020. After Massimo joined on bass duties, we published the second EP "hiraeth" in December 2020. When Claudio joined on drumming duties in the summer of 2021, the musical family was finally back together! Rather than delving in nostalgia, we decided that our revived collaboration could only go forward with new ideas, new challenges and, of course, new music.
Our sonic explorations are now more digital than ever, since we operate from different locations (Sicily, Germany, Spain) and write and record remotely. The first publication as three piece was the EP "fernweh" in March 2022.
The journey continues!
