The Meeting Places formed in September 2001 in Los Angeles, California by Chase Harris, Dean Yoshihara, Arthur Chan and Scott McDonald — formerly of Closedown, Alison’s Halo and Amnesia (ex-Medicine). Having a shared interest in sonic textures, noise and melodic pop, the four developed a widescreen sound that led to their debut album, ‘Find Yourself Along The Way’, recorded at The Ship Studio with Aaron Espinoza. The album appeared on several Top Albums of 2003 lists in publications around the world.
In 2005/2006 the quartet recorded their sophomore album ‘Numbered Days’ with Grandaddy's Jim Fairchild. After a brief hiatus the they created an expansive-sounding 4-song EP titled ‘You & I’ with Micah Panzich at Fat Cave Studio in May, 2019 (Saint Marie Records).
