Destani Wolf, Berkeley’s own soulful vocalist, is celebrated by JazzTimes as one of the “West Coast’s most inventive vocalists…also an accomplished improviser.” Known for her effortless vocal range, soulful presence, and healing, sultry sound, Destani has forged her own path through genre-defying original music, using her voice as a conduit for connection and healing.
From performing at age 15 at the Great American Music Hall to becoming an original lead vocalist with Cirque du Soleil and a longtime member of Bobby McFerrin’s MOTION, she has dedicated her career to bringing people together through music. She has performed at Yoshi’s, SFJAZZ Center, Joe’s Pub, Stern Grove Festival, Lincoln Center, and venues around the world.
Inspired by her Mexican heritage, Destani has been featured on three GRAMMY-nominated albums and has shared the stage with Seal, Zap Mama, Taj Mahal, Talib Kweli, Seu Jorge, The Pharcyde, John Cale, and more. She released her self-produced Cali-soul EP Peek Away, and her voice and compositions have appeared in Disney’s Descendants, Kevin Hart’s Laugh at My Pain, HBO’s Momentum Generation, and more.
Currently creating a new collection of original songs, Destani’s upcoming album is inspired by the bold, innovative spirit of the Bay Area—Cali-Soul. Wherever her journey leads, she honors her roots while singing toward a more connected and hopeful future.
